Clifford Helmer Lund

Clifford Helmer Lund, 94, Harbor resident for over sixty years, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Montesano Health & Rehab Center.

Clifford was born on April 12, 1918, in Correll, Minnesota to Con and Matilda (Nutter) Lund. He grew up in Ortonville, Minn. and attended school there. He joined the Army during World War II and fought in the European Theater.

After the war he returned to Ortonville and on October 2, 1947, he married Mabel Ida Paulson. They came to the Harbor in 1950 and he went to work for West Coast Plywood, then Evans Wood Products from where he retired in 1982.

Clifford loved working around the house he built in 1950.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mabel Lund of Montesano and a nephew, Donald Hallock of Port Orchard, Wash. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

There will be a gathering of friends and family at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Dorothy Mann Reception Hall.
