Conrad E. Strozyk, 81, died on Friday, August 10, 2012, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was born on June 25, 1931, in Menlo, Wash. to Edward and Julia (Pehl) Strozyk.
He married his wife of 63 years, Alene Orkney July 22, 1949, in Merango, Ill. She survives him at the family home in Raymond. Conrad worked as a T.V. Cable Technician for the former T.V. Smith, Joe Kuskey and Cox T.V. for a total of 38 years, ending his career in a management position.
Conrad was a member of the Willapa Harbor Lions Club, 4-H, Raymond Elks and was formerly a Raymond School Board member. He coached Little League Baseball and very much enjoyed all local sports. He also was a Sports Broadcaster for the former K.A.P.A. Radio Station. Conrad spent his spare time woodworking and being outdoors.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Kathy Strozyk of Sequim and Karen Burkhalter of Montesano; a son, Ed Strozyk of Vancouver; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A sister, Ellen Pekola preceded Conrad in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond with burial to follow at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo. Memorials may be made to the Raymond Ambulance Fund at 212 Commercial St., Raymond, WA 98577 or the Willapa Harbor Lions Club at P.O. Box 529 Raymond, WA 98577. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
