Daniel Aaron Cooper, 58, a longtime Elma resident, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash.
Dan was born on July 20, 1954, in Missoula, Montana to John E. and Lita Lou (Schoewe) Finch. Later his mother married Jim Copper and he adopted Dan.
Dan grew up in Seattle and Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School in 1972.
He married Luana Goodenough on June 28, 1997 in their neighbors front yard in Elma, Washington.
He had worked for Guardian Property Management in Seattle as an Apartment Manager. He had worked as a carpenter for Delta Marine, Pacific Rim Yachts and Catamaran’s. He also worked for Wal-Mart in Shelton.
Dan enjoyed working with wood, oil painting, playing his accordion and organ.
Dan is survived by his wife, Luana Goodenough of Elma; a son, Christian Cooper of Duvall, Wash.; step-son, Stacy Foshaug of Aberdeen; his father, John Finch in Minnesota; an uncle, Gorden Schoewe of Long Beach; a brother, Mike Cooper of Central Park, Wash.; two sisters, Karen and husband Bill Pugh of Sumner, Wash. and Rebecca Cooper and companion Annemarie Huppert of Gig Harbor; and six step-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for Dan at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013, in St. John’s Cemetery, in Wishkah Valley, Wash.
