Yolanda Smith

Yolanda Y. Smith, a longtime Harborite, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 55.

She attended Weatherwax High School and worked at the Red Lion in Aberdeen for many.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

John Carossino

A celebration of life open house for lifelong Aberdeen resident John Carossino, who died July 9 at home, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Rath Manipakone

SOUTH BEND — Pacific Harbor resident Rath Manipakone died Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. He was 90.

He worked as a policeman in Laos and served in the armed forces. He was held in a “re-education” camp in Sayphone from 1975 until 1983 and entered a refugee camp in Thailand at Soon Napole in 1985. He then immigrated to the United States.

Buddhist services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond with cremation to follow at the Fern Hill Crematory in Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary.

Joan M. Henry

MONTESANO — Joan Marie Henry, a five-year resident of Montesano, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at her home. She was 84.

She had been an elementary school teacher in Nebraska and at Morton Elementary School.

At her request there will be no formal funeral services.

Arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.

Drew C. Chamberlain

Drew Chester Chamberlain of Ocean Shores died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 74.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Frances A. Cates

LACEY — Aberdeen resident Frances Anne Cates died Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Lacey. She was 83.

She had been a secretary for the Aberdeen School District.

A celebration of her life is being planned for next week and a full obituary with details will follow in The Daily World.

Doris L. Toy

Doris Lucille Toy, longtime resident of Aberdeen and former nurse for Aberdeen School District, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at her home. She was 95.

A celebration of her life is being planned for August.

Cremation arrangements are through Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
