Margaret N. Schaben Haek

Former Hoquiam resident Margaret Nevilla Haek Schaben of Aberdeen died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 79. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Hoquiam.

Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Tacoma.

Gary R. McAtee

Hoquiam resident Gary Raymond McAtee died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

He was 73.

Cremation arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Joy M. LaRose

Aberdeen resident Joy Marie LaRose died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Pacific Care Center in Aberdeen. She was 71.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 16, in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen.

Scott W. McEvers

ELMA — Scott Wayne McEvers of South Bend died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma. He was 40.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Loren L. Harris Jr.

Loren Lee Harris Jr. of Hoquiam died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 52.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

June F. Watters

June Fishel Watters, a longtime Hoquiam resident, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at her home in Hoquiam. She was 92.

She had worked as a caregiver in a local nursing facility.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in the Community of Christ Church in Neilton. A potluck dinner will follow in the church social hall. Private inurnment will be held later in the Quinault Cemetery.

A complete obituary will be published in a later edition of The Daily World.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Harold “Hal” E. Johnson

Harold “Hal” Edwin Johnson, a resident of the Harbor for the past 15 months, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 93.

He served in the U.S. Army and the Air Corps, retiring from the Air Force in 1975 as a lieutenant colonel. He was employed as an auditor with the State of California for numerous years.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.

Inurnment with military honors is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.

Anne L. Grimm

OLYMPIA — Longtime Raymond resident Anne Louise Grimm died Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Olympia. She was 86.

She was an accomplished writer who traveled throughout the United States and Central America.

At her request there will be no service.

Arrangements are by Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
