Lawrence “Hoot” Pearson

Lawrence F. “Hoot” Pearson, a longtime resident of Hoquiam, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Grays Harbor Health & Rehab in Aberdeen. He was 82.

He had worked as a logger and shake cutter for most of his life.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 16, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park. A celebration of life gathering will follow at the VFW Henry L. Robb Post 1135 in Hoquiam.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Mary A. Revel

A potluck celebration of life for Mary Alice Revel of Cosmopolis, who died March 31, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the Cosmopolis Lion’s Club.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Daniel E. “Speedy” Rosander

TAHOLAH — Daniel Eugene “Speedy” Rosander, a longtime Taholah resident and enrolled member of the Quinault Indian Nation, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at his home in Taholah. He was 55.

He made and mended fishing nets and fished on the Quinault River with his grandfather. He also worked as a clam digger and firefighter.

A candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam. An Indian Shaker funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam. Concluding services and interment will follow in the Taholah Cemetery.

Leland A. Tilley

Inurnment services with full military honors will be held for Montesano resident Leland Arthur Tilley at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. He died March 15 in Aberdeen.

Arrangements are by Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.

Karl Schmidt

ASTORIA, Ore. — Karl T. Schmidt of Astoria died Monday, April 2, 2012, in Astoria, Ore. He was 65.

He was born and raised in Aberdeen.

A celebration of his life will be held at noon Saturday, April 14, in the Westport Convention Center.

Arrangements are by Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria.

William Peters

William E. Peters, owner of Bill Peters Construction of Aberdeen, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 78 and had lived on the Harbor for more than 60 years.
