Phyllis J. Porter

OCEAN SHORES — Longtime Harborite Phyllis Jean Porter died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home in Ocean Shores. She was 66.

She moved to the Harbor in 1970 and had since resided here. She worked at The Daily World for a year and then at Swanson’s Grocery for 38 years, retiring as office manager.

During this same period of time she and her husband, Robert Focht, owned the Ocean Shores Observer and then founded the North Coast News in 1992.

A celebration of her life is being planned and will be announced in a later edition of The Daily World.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
