Donna Jean Shedd, 62 years of age and a lifetime Harborite, died on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington. She was born on February 25, 1950, in Aberdeen to Robert and Elizabeth Jean (Peterite) McClelland.
She was raised and attended school in Hoquiam, attended Central Grade School, Hoquiam Junior High School and Hoquiam High School where she graduated in 1968.
Donna Jean was married to George A. Shedd, in 1969, in Aberdeen. He died in 1993.
Following their marriage the couple resided in Hoquiam. She loved helping people. She was always employed in some type of job, be it in a grocery store or in later years as a nurse’s assistant at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center. She especially liked going on the patient’s “play-day” field trips to the greater area recreation sites. She spent a lot of time in her garden and had a “green thumb” when it came to raising and exhibiting her roses. She liked going to Reno, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Florida, camping, boating, water skiing, crocheting and was a “cat lover”.
Donna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi Francis and Dwayne Benner of Hoquiam; her son and daughter-in-law, George E. Shedd and Heidi Shedd of Spanaway, Washington; her mother, Betty McClelland of Montesano; a brother, Robert C. McClelland of Sekiu, Washington; a sister, Carol Clark of Montesano; seven grandchildren, Kaylee Shedd, McKenzie Shedd, Amanda Francis, Matthew Moore, Gabrielle Beglinger, Taylor Benner and Willow Benner; two great-grandchildren, Tyson and Aiden; as well as other relatives and friends. Besides her father, Robert McClelland who died in 1999, and her husband, George A. Shedd who died in 1993, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Gale McClelland who died in 1964.

A private nicheside service of inurnment will be held at the Bower Mausoleum Niches in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the 40 et 8 Club, 2313 Simpson Avenue in Aberdeen.
