Doris Leona Prante passed-away on May 10, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Aberdeen, Washington. She was born December 22, 1924, to Jasper Kay and Esther Mabel (nee Rogers) Ausmus in Lamar, Colorado. She graduated from Lamar Union High School on May, 22, 1942.
Doris married John L. Prante on October 23, 1948. She worked for ten and a half years from 1958 to June, 1969 for the 1st Independent Bank in Vancouver, Wash., obtaining the position of Chief Clerk of Operations and later worked as a bookkeeper/receptionist for East County Clinic in Elma, Wash. from 1971 to 1978.
Doris was a devout Christian that loved gardening, cooking, camping, fishing, clamming and most of all, her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Theresa (Gordon) Attfiled; brothers, Virgil and Herval Ausmus. She is survived by her brother, George Ausmus; daughter, Judy Shedd; son, Jerry (Barbara) Nielsen; son, Bill (Sue) Prante; son, Jim (Barbara) Prante; son, Al (Cheryl) Prante; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. Interment will be at Satsop Cemetery in Satsop.
Resting in Paradise-well done good and faithful servant! The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Children’s hospital in Seattle.
