Dorothy L. Miller 87, and a longtime resident of Oyehut, Washington, died on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Westhaven Villa in Aberdeen. She was born on April 30, 1925, in Newman Grove, Nebraska, to Henry and Rose (Schmidt) Klitzke. She graduated from high school in Newman Grove.
Dorothy met her future husband at a dance and they were married on September 21, 1947, in Pierce, Nebraska. He died on November 6, 1986.
She had lived in Tilden, Nebraska, before moving to the west coast. In 1967 she move to Oyehut and had been employed as a housekeeper at the Gitchee Gummie Motel in Ocean Shores and also worked for Custom Clam Cleaners at Ocean Shores. For several years she had worked along side of her husband on his commercial fishing boat.
Dorothy liked to keep busy and enjoyed helping others. You could find her out mowing her neighbors lawns. She enjoyed cooking and would cook seafood buffets for friends and family.
Survivors include sons, Keith Miller of Seattle and Randy Miller of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Shelley, Ryan Seth, Jamie; and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no formal funeral services. Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
