Dorothy V. Lachiondo, 48 years of age and a longtime Harborite, died on Friday, June 22, 2012, at her home in Aberdeen, Washington. She was born in Aberdeen on December 5, 1963, to Joseph and Dorothy Lillian (Clark) Lachiondo.
She was raised in the East Hoquiam area and attended the Hoquiam schools. As a youth she enjoyed participating in all types of organized sporting events. She spent most of her life in Hoquiam and attended the Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Church.
For numerous years she was a manager at Advance Cash, located on Wishkah Street in Aberdeen. Her travels had taken her to Arizona and Australia. She was an animal lover, enjoyed camping, walking and beach combing as well as spending time with her granddaughter.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Natasha Lutes of the family home in Aberdeen; her granddaughter, Jaden Wells of the family home in Aberdeen; her sister, Linda D. Coates of Hoquiam; her brothers, Kevin J. Lachiondo of Montesano, Joseph B. Lachiondo of Aberdeen, Daniel G. Lachiondo of Aberdeen and Steven A. Lachiondo (Julie) of Montesano; her nephews, Matthew Coates of Hoquiam and Aaron Lachiondo of Mount Vernon; her niece, Angie Scherff of Hoquiam and other relatives.
Her mother, Dorothy Lillian Lachiondo died in 2005; her father, Joseph Lachiondo died in 1986; and her nephew, Jason A. Coates died in 2009.
The family requests donations be sent to P.A.W.S., PO Box 451 in Aberdeen.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the family gathering place in Montesano.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam.
