Erin Allan Watkins, Jr.


Erin Allan Watkins, Jr., 31, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Quilcene, Washington. He was born June 5, 1981, in Aberdeen to Erin Watkins, Sr. and Elizabeth Killian.

Erin grew up in Hoquiam and went to Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Aberdeen. He then attended Hoquiam Middle School and Hoquiam High School where he met Casey Connally. He graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1999 then attended Grays Harbor Community College for a year. He attended Northwest Lineman College where he learned how to become an electrical lineman. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Casey, on September 25, 2004.

Erin was very active in sports in his youth and excelled in all that he pursued. He was as inventive as he was adventurous. A builder of bike jumps, broomstick swords and owner of all video games. He was the guy that played the hardest, got all the laughs and had the most fun. An avid outdoorsman, he could most often be found hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, camping, or outside playing with his boys and dogs. Erin also loved his job and took pride in his work, he was well known for his responsible work ethic and sense of humor in the lineman community where he made many friends.

Erin was a devoted father and husband. Family was very important to him and he loved coaching his boys Ethan and Aidan in sports and relished any chance he had to spend time with them. He loved camping and traveling with his wife and children, going anywhere from Westport to Disney World.

He was strong and gentle and always stood up for what is right. He will be missed, but never forgotten. His spirit will live on through our memories of him and through his family.

Erin is survived by his wife, Casey, and two sons, Ethan and Aidan Watkins, all of the family home in Aberdeen; his mother, Elizabeth Watkins of Olympia; his father, Erin Watkins, Sr. of Hoquiam; his sister, Angie Watkins, of Aberdeen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

The family requests donations be made to the Erin A. Watkins, Jr. Memorial Fund through any Bank of America.

Erin’s funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday December 21, 2012, at Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Church, 200 L Street in Hoquiam with Father Steve Roman presiding. A reception for family and friends will follow.
