Frances B. Petersen

Our beautiful Frances went to be with her Lord on December 31, 2012. She died peacefully at Tacoma General Hospital after days of being surrounded by her family.

Frances was born in Portland, Oregon on April 15, 1932 to Madeline and Frank Hudziak. She married Thomas Petersen (deceased) and shared a life with him, her family and her friends.

Frances enjoyed fishing, hunting, beach combing, gambling and, of course, Scrabble with her friends. Franny raised her children in Edgewood, Washington but the place that was truly home to her was Tokeland or “The Beach” as she called it. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint Paul’s Parish in Westport, Washington.

Frances is survived by her children, Christi Lewis (Tom), Thomas Petersen (Gail), Mady Murrey (Lonny). Her son Frank Petersen preceded her in death. She also delighted in her eight grandchildren, Scotti Rose Petersen, Thomas Petersen, Jerry Petersen, Travis Petersen, Alex Murrey, Max Murrey, Jack Murrey, and Emma Murrey.

Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, January 5, 2012, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Raymond with burial to follow beside her husband at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Westport or Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Foundation in Tacoma, Washington.

Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
