Gary Dean Fulkerson Sr.

Lifelong Grays Harbor resident Gary Dean Fulkerson Sr., 74, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Gary was born October 10, 1938, in Aberdeen, Washington to Donald and Dora (Voeller) Fulkerson. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1956 where he excelled at football. That passion stayed with Gary his whole life.

Gary married Royann Robinson in Aberdeen, Washington and they had two children Kristi & Dean. They divorced in 1975. He married Susan Baker in 1990. They later divorced.

Gary retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1997 where he had been a lab technician for over 30 years.

He had served in the National Guard and belonged to the Montesano Moose Lodge, V.F.W., and Eagles.

In earlier years, he coached little league and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at the Hoh River.

After Gary retired he enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Kristi Spargo of Montesano; mother, Dora Klopcic of McCleary; sister, Diane (Dave) Westmoreland of Elma; two grandchildren, Lindsy and Justin Spargo; great-grandson, Kristian Dean Spargo; niece and nephew, Danica and Damian Westmoreland and several cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Donald Fulkerson; and also his son, Gary Dean Fulkerson Jr.

In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be an After Hour’s Party for Gary at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Montesano Moose Lodge. Memorials are suggested to Moose Lodge Scholarships or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
