Gordon Dennis “Denny” Main, age 72 and a lifelong Harborite, died at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington on November 23, 2012. Dennis Main was born October 5, 1940, to Gordon (Buck) Main and Lois (Wood) Main in Aberdeen, Washington.
Denny graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1959, finding football his passion. He grew up in a neighborhood known as Newton and lived in Copalis Crossing for over 40 years.
He worked at Graham Shake Mill while still in high school starting out as a packer and continued after graduation working his way up to sawyer, retiring in 2009 from Griffiths 208 Shake & Shingle Mill as a packer. In 1960, Dennis dug clams professionally in Alaska and a lots of fun stories were a result this venture.
Denny enjoyed competitive shuffleboard, traveling throughout the Northwest to tournaments as well as over 20 years of league matches. Like his father, he had a passion (and great gift) for playing poker. Other pastimes included bowling, darts, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a son, Daniel Main; a son, Matthew Schmidt and his ex-wife, Cindy (Ross) Schmidt; Denny’s life partner of 34 years, Carol Llewellyn; his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Joe Musolino; nieces, Kristen and Michelle Musolino; grandchildren, Mitch Collins, Candis Main and Justin Main and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his oldest, son, Patrick Dennis Main and his first wife, Shirley (Paterson) Main; his mother and father.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam with Rev. Kenneth Middleton officiating.
