Our beloved husband and father, James L. Horne Jr., 47, passed away on August 1, 2013, at his home in Rochester, Washington, of heart disease.
Jim was the youngest of four, born in Aberdeen, Washington, to James Sr. and Sharon Horne on July 16, 1966. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1985. He received his Associates of Technical Arts Degree from South Puget Sound Community College and was currently working towards his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Governor’s University.
Jim married Jillann Powell on December 14, 2000, and became father to three children, whom he adored, in addition to his two children from a previous marriage. He worked hard to provide for his family as an Information Technology Specialist for the State of Washington.
Jim was a member of the SCA for many years and was an officer within the association. He enjoyed gaming, working on computers, cooking, spending time with his family, and being the best Deda ever.
Jim was genuine, humble and down to earth. He was generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. He was kind-hearted and loved life.
Jim is survived by his sweetheart and wife, Jillann; five children, Tyson Reeves, Tessica (Josh) Welch, Christopher (Elizabeth) Wolfe, Caitlyn Horne, and Kenedie Reeves; two grandchildren, Morgan Reeves and Dartanion Wolfe; mother, Sharon Horne; three siblings, Kevin (Ruth) Horne, Edie (Sam) Brooks and Tami Ishler and much extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, James Horne Sr.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in the chapel at the Harrison Family Mortuary, 311 West Market Street in Aberdeen. A celebration of his life will follow at 6:00 p.m. at Grays Harbor Foursquare Church located at 4800 Central Park Drive, Aberdeen.
Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. “Between now and then, ‘til I see you again, I’ll be loving you, love me.”
