Montesano resident Jerry “Big Jer” Foster passed away at home on December 24, 2012. He was 62. Jerry was born in Aberdeen on August 6, 1950 to Richard and Lillie (Lott) Foster. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1969. Jerry was then drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1970 and served until 1972.
On January 25, 1972, Jerry married Linda Fenton in Aberdeen. She survives him at the family home. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for 28 years.
Jerry had many hobbies and interests; he was a member of ABATE of Washington and belonged to the 101 Wisemen. He loved riding his Harley and also played the bass guitar in his band. Every year, his family had “Foster Fest” on their 12 acre property, many bands played and it was always a good time!
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Linda; daughter, Melissa (Dave) Fruen of Elma; and son, Jerry (Kym) Foster Jr. of Elma; sisters, Connie (Bill) Pinneo, Marilyn Spence; Diana (David) Hasbrouk and Judy (Chuck) Moses; seven grandchildren, MaKayla, Chance, Mady, Wade, Blake, Declyn and Jase.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29th at the Montesano Assembly of God located at 125 South Sylvia St., followed by a graveside service at Wynooche Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow at the Montesano Moose Lodge.
