Jesse Lee Cates, “Uncle”, died on August 13, 2012. He was born in Salmon, Idaho on February 2, 1954, to Bill and Janelle Cates.
He graduated White Pass High School in 1972 and was currently employed by the Westport Shipyard. Jesse enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing, archery, target shooting, and daily swims at the Aberdeen YMCA.
Jesse is survived by his father and step-mother, Bill and Nancy Cates, of Sandpoint, Idaho; his mother, Janelle Toavs, of Springdale, Washington; his 2 brothers, Gary Cates of Charlo, Montana and Dan Pignotti of Kellogg, Idaho; 3 sisters, Billie Cates of Hot Springs, Montana, Leann Pugsley of Aberdeen, Washington and Maleah Toavs of Springdale, Washington. Jesse will also be loved and missed by his 8 nieces and nephews, 12 great- nieces/nephews, and 1 great-great niece.
There will be a Celebration on Life at the Westport VFW Youth Center, located at 211 E. Pacific Ave in Westport, Washington, at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012. All family and friends are invited.
