Joseph F. Wiss, 68, a longtime Raymond resident passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2012.
He was born June 30, 1943, in Chehalis, Washington, to Fred and Frances (Anderson) Wiss.
He grew up in Raymond and graduated from Willapa Valley High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War.
Joe married Carol Amacher on March 22, 1969, in Raymond. She survives at the family home. He worked for Weyerhaeuser as a log truck driver for 38 years until retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed going to coffee with friends and camping on the Hood Canal. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and 2 week old grandson, and also driving and showing his 1953 Ford Victoria.
Besides his wife, Joe is survived by his daughters, Debra Wiss (Bryan) of Cosmopolis and Roberta (Jake) Merkel of Raymond; his grandchildren, Addison (Sweetie Pie) Merkel and Lucas Merkel; one brother, Dick (Nancy) Wiss of Olympia; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law all of Raymond as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no funeral services.
