Judith Carol O’Brien a longtime resident of Aberdeen passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. She was born May 16, 1945, in Oregon City, Oregon, to Carlton and Gladys (Jones) Niles.
In 1960, her family moved to Hoquiam where she graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1963. Judith had also lived in Portland and Hillsboro, Oregon as well as Renton, Wash.
On September 17, 1966, Judy married Will O’Brien in Aberdeen. They later divorced. She had worked for Sears, Copeland Glass & Paint and for the past 10 years she has worked for Wunderland Child Care Centers.
Judy belonged to Harbor Homemakers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends and enjoyed doing crafts, clam digging, traveling and camping.
Judy is survived by her two sons, Craig (Kathy) O’Brien of Cosmopolis and Calvin (Jennifer) O’Brien of Aberdeen; daughter, Carmen (Jon) O’Brien Vanier of North Bend; mother, Gladys Niles of Hoquiam; two brothers, Ken (Penny) Niles of Oakesdale and Don Niles of Aberdeen; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Kyler, Dylan and Ellie.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary located at 311 W. Market St. in Aberdeen. A celebration of her life will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Rotary Log Pavilion.
