Julienne Lita Strand, age 73, a resident of Grayland since 2001, died on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Mrs. Strand was born on February 29, 1940, in Tacoma, Washington to Laurel and Florence (Hanson) Macomber. She graduated from Stadium High School in 1958.
Mrs. Strand had worked as a computer analyst for Key Bank prior to her retirement in 2000.
She loved spending time with her family, quilting and gardening. She worked with the Friends of the Library in Grays Harbor, and loved a great debate. She never quit learning and encouraged those who loved her the same. She was a great and awesome woman and will be missed so much.
Surviving relatives include her daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Tony Cerovac of Grayland; a son and his wife, Alec and Angie Strand of Bellingham; grandchildren, Jacob Wiltfong, Hayley Riley, Holly Wood, Sophia Strand, Zoe Strand and Oliver Strand; and five great-grandchildren, Montana, Ethan, Jude and Eva Wiltfong and Jack McWilliams. A brother, Warren Macomber died previously.
A potluck celebration of life gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Willapa Grange in Grayland.
Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
