Kasey Lee Caskey

Kasey was born October 24, 1989, in Aberdeen, Washington to Marie and Kelly Caskey. Kasey passed away May 12, 2013, in St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia after a 3 week battle due to acute strep/staph pneumonia and ARDS. He donated his corneas to SightLife to give the gift of sight to someone else.

Kasey was the office manager at his dad’s family owned business, Caskey Industrial Supply Co., Inc. in Cosmopolis. He was very proud to work with his dad and brother, hoping one day to be one of the owners of the family’s legacy.

Kasey graduated in the top 25 of his class from Aberdeen High School in 2008. He attended Grays Harbor College briefly before joining the Caskey Industrial Family.

Kasey was a large man with a heart to match, he didn’t have any enemies. He would go pull a stranger out of a ditch at 3:00 a.m. if they called him. Even when he was wronged, he would not dislike the person. He was a gentle giant that loved life and to make people happy. He became friends with everyone he came across and touched many lives. His outgoing personality and infectious smile would be his biggest character traits.

Kasey was an avid sports fan. He loved going to Seahawks and Husky football games with his family. If there was a sport on, it was playing on his TV. He was a standout baseball player from little league through senior babe ruth. He loved all types of music and enjoyed working with wood; from making furniture to making his senior project which was a custom entrance sign for the family’s river camping lot.

Kasey loved to go camping and float down the Satsop River. He was an amazing horseshoe player, loved riding quads, especially with his nephew, Tyler, and doing a river steamer. He loved all holidays, 4th of July and Christmas being his favorites. He loved spending time with his family, playing with his nieces and nephews, hoping someday he would have children of his own.

Kasey leaves behind his parents, Kelly and Marie (Pratt) Caskey;, his brother, Brett (Tasha, Tyler, Jade, Isaiah, Tessa) Caskey; sister, Katelyn Caskey; his two cats, Howie and Kali; many Aunts ,Uncles and cousins, Kevin and Barb (Kevin, Jamie, Jordan) Caskey, Kerri “Caskey” (Kori Philips, Brodey Jones, Krista Kersker) Jones, Kandi “Caskey” and Ron (Alexys, Andrew, Seth) Johnson.;Margaret “Pratt” and Rick (Angie Aaron, Bob) Jenkins; Delbert and Pam Pratt; John and Char (Greg, Bonnie, Ben, David) Pratt; Jim and Freda (Tim, Nathan, Rebecca, Debra, Josiah) Pratt and many more cousins.

Kasey would say “keep making smiles, pass it forward”.
