Playing Ball in the Fields of Heaven
Kenneth Marvin Odle was born in Kansas to Preston & Florence Odle on December 21, 1934. After moving to McCleary, he met the love of his life Margaret Housotter.
Together they had 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Ken loved his family and cherished their time together. A successful entrepreneur, Ken ran the McCleary Exxon Gas Station and later operated a successful hauling business in Olympia, Ken’s Hauling. He retired from the Simpson Door Plant and also held a seat on the McCleary City Council, where he was extremely active and instrumental in the creation of the McCleary ball field.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving his jalopy, watching the Mariners, and his involvement with the jeep club in his early years. Even as the end grew near, Ken always had a beautiful smile that captivated your heart and left you feeling as though you were the most special person on earth. He will be missed by all who knew him as he gave comfort to many.
We will miss and love you always Pops!
Graveside services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the McCleary Cemetery.
