LaVonne Darlene Snyder-Anderson, age 74 and a resident of the Westport-Grayland, Washington area for the past five years died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at her home.
LaVonne was born on December 31, 1937, at Eugene, Oregon, to Robert and Sophie (Wetzel) Snyder. She graduated from South Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. On July 10, 1955, she was married to Waldean Sam Anderson in Salem, Oregon and he past on July 12, 2005, in Beaverton, Oregon.
She moved to Portland, Oregon in 1960 from Eugene and then to Beaverton, Oregon, in 1964 where she resided until she moved to Grayland, Washington in 2007. While living in Beaverton she had worked for Tektronix before retiring after 25 years.
LaVonne got so much enjoyment from playing cards with her extended poker family. She loved the beach to go for walks, clam digging and the wildlife. She was an avid bingo player, going camping, swimming at the YMCA and playing Broomstick Pool. She enjoyed sharing e-mails with family and friends. Her travels included going to Las Vegas once a year and going to Europe, Australia and Alaska. She was a member of the Beaverton Elks Lodge.
She was beautiful on the inside and out, a wife, mother, grandmother and a terrific friend to all. She will be remembered for her loving, caring, generous way. Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne (Richard) Reynolds of Grayland, Vickie (Sandy) Fitzpatrick of Roseburg, Oregon; her grandchildren, Tezra, Christopher, Shane and Luke and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary of Hoquiam. Private inurnment services will be in Oregon.
