Leonor Trujillo Royal

Leonor Trujillo Royal passed away on October 2, 2013, in Newport, Washington. Leonor was born July 15, 1932 in Neiva, Colombia, South America. She came to the United States in the 1950’s, settling in the Aberdeen/Hoquiam areas. She married Robert R. ‘Bob’ Royal of Hoquiam on July 16, 1960. She became a U.S. citizen in 1974 and was an avid BINGO player until 2007, when her health began to decline.

Leonor passed away at the home of her daughter, Sharon Barragan and Sharon’s partner, Bill Zucconi who were her 24-hour caregivers for the final years of her life. Leonor was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 44 years. Leonor is survived by her daughter Sharon Royal Barragan and her partner, Bill Zucconi, of Newport, Wash.; son, James F. Royal and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Royal of Kent, Wash.; daughter, Gloria Royal Hopland and son-in-law, Morten Hopland, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; niece, Betty Bowley and her husband, Joe Bowley of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Sara, Sierra, Stephanie, Kelsey, Vicente, Colton, Lauren, McKenna, Kaitlin and Emily; and seven great-grandchildren.

Leonor will be laid to rest at the Masonic Cemetery in Elma. No services will be held.
