Lois Jean Paskas of Aberdeen passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She was born April 3, 1929, in Buckley, Washington to James and Elizabeth (Mac Dowell) Pirtle. Lois was raised in North River and attended school in Ocosta.
On November 15, 1949, Lois married Joseph Paskas, Sr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen. He passed away December 28, 2003.
Lois worked for many years at what was then called Parklane Nursing Facility and is now Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center. She belonged to T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) since the 1960’s.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, traveling, going to garage sales and collecting collector dolls.
Lois is survived by her children, Joseph Paskas Jr. and Martin Paskas both of Aberdeen, Donna Paskas of Yelm, Wash. and Carol Muhlhauser of Hoquiam; a brother, John Pirtle of Central Park ; a sister, Jean Noble of Yelm, Wash.; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Joseph Sr. she was preceded in death by a brother, John Pirtle.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary located at 311 W. Market St. in Aberdeen.
