Louis James Spencer


Louie our beloved Husband, Brother, Dad and Papa went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2013, in Mesa, Arizona, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Louis James Spencer was born on March 15, 1950, to Robert and Juanita Spencer in Tacoma, Washington. He was a resident of Elma, Wash. and attended Elma High School from 1965 to 1968 where he played football and track.

In 1969 Louie married Marilyn Sheets and they had 4 children. Louie served one tour in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant and worked several jobs while building his family in Elma, ranging from Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Deputy, Weyco, to Simpson Timber, Co.

Louie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn; three sons, Michael (wife Christa) of Anthem, Ariz., Mark (wife Amy) of Mesa, Ariz., Kevin (wife Robin) of Elma, Wash.; mother-in-law, Geraldine Sheets; four siblings, Robert (Bob) Spencer, Dorothy (Dot) Daniels, Ken Spencer, and June Thorne; brother-in-law Ron Sheets; grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louie is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; parents; and brother, Norman Spencer.

With Louie, family was number one and friends were family. He was a strong man, who loved riding his Harley. His fight for life will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, in the Elma High School Commons. The family has requested that any donations be made to the American Cancer Society, so others may be helped in their battles.
