Irene P. Patrick, a lifetime South Bend resident died November 30, 2012, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond. She was born April 23, 1922, in South Bend, WA, to John M. and Louise M. (Petersen) Johnsen.
Irene graduated from South Bend High School with the class of 1940. She met Wayne Patrick while they were both serving in the U.S. Marine Corps., during World War II. They married after they were discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps., December 22, 1945.
Irene loved to sew and read. She had also worked at Coast Oyster Co., and Lavinder’s in South Bend for a few years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in South Bend.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne G. Patrick; three sons, John Patrick (Linda) of Moses Lake, Darrell Patrick (Cathy 2011) of Bay Center and David Patrick of South Bend; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive her.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and the Willapa Harbor Care Center.
A potluck celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the First Lutheran Church in South Bend. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary of Raymond.
