Former Montesano resident Margaret Ann Gebhardt, 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Margaret was born July 17, 1923, in Montesano, Washington to John and Hilma (Nordeen) Gebhardt. She was raised in Montesano and lived the last 30 years in Littlerock, Wash.
During World War II she was a “Rosie the Riveter” for Boeing in Aberdeen and also wired consoles. She was also a milkman delivering milk to homes. In 1983, she retired from Washington State Tree Farm as a nursery worker.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, drawing, photography, painting, music and visiting friends at the local watering hole. She enjoyed following the Mariners, who were always in a “rebuilding year”.
Margaret is survived by three nieces, one nephew and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Gebhardt and sister, Corine Gallagher.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the Wynooche Cemetery.
