Marvin H. Mooney passed away peacefully on June 24, 2012, at Mark Reed Hospital in McCleary, Washington. He was the oldest of eight children born to Fred and Jenny (Gibson) Mooney of Elma. He was born November 9, 1918, at Oakville, Washington. He married Connie Hook from Norfolk, England in Cheyenne, Wyo. in 1954. After 22 years of Air Force Military Service in North Africa, Italy, and other parts of Europe and the US, he returned to his hometown of Satsop, where he operated the Satsop Barber Shop and also the ME TV Shop in Montesano where he sold and repaired televisions.
He is survived by his son, Dennis M. Mooney of Snohomish; grandson, Keith Mooney of San Diego, Calif.; granddaughter, Tia (Chris) Curry of Darrington, Wash.; great-granddaughter, Hannah Curry; two brothers, Donald (Dolores) Mooney of Seattle and Richard Mooney of Granite Falls; two sisters, Marjorie (Mooney) Baker of Springfield, Ore. and Delores (Stoy) Yeager of Salem, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife of 35 years, Connie and his son, Gregory Mooney preceded him in death as well as three brothers, Glenn Mooney of Montesano, Ken Mooney of Satsop and Fred Mooney Jr. of Springfield, Ore.
A military graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Satsop Cemetery.
