Mary Cross a lifelong Hoquiam resident passed away on December 14, 2012, in Auburn, Washington, at the age of 88. She was born on November 22, 1924, in Hoquiam to Marko and Anna Cemelich.
Mary was an employee of Grays Harbor Paper for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed cooking, baking, loved to share her great food with family and friends; dancing, music, gardening, being with family and traveling to warmer weather.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Cross. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Belcher; brother, Tony Cemelich; grandchildren, Bryan Caswell, Koresa Belcher, Kasey Belcher and Machelle Benitez; and great-grandchildren, Joshua West and Jassella Benitez.
Her loving and caring spirit will live on forever. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Help Church, 200 L Street in Hoquiam at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 9, 2013, with Father Steve Roman officiating. A potluck reception will follow at the Hoquiam Senior Center, 707 Simpson Ave., coffee and cake will be provided.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hoquiam Senior Center.
