Mary Teresa McGuire, age 82, a resident of Central Park in Aberdeen, Washington, went to Heaven on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Saint Peters Hospital in Olympia.
Mary was born on May 26, 1929, to Mike and Mary Beter of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
She graduated from Humboldt High School, located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1947. After high school, Mary took a job as a Bank Teller where she met her husband, William (Bill) McGuire. Bill was passing through Minnesota while he was serving in the United States Navy. He and Mary fell in love and were married on May 27, 1950, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They made their home in Iwakuni, Japan where Bill was stationed. After his service in Japan, they moved to Bill’s hometown of Aberdeen where they had their son, Michael.
Mary worked at Pearson’s in Aberdeen, Puget Sound Truck Lines in Aberdeen and then retired as a Repair Technician Dispatcher from Pacific Northwest Bell/U.S. West Phone Company in Olympia. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, planting flowers in her yard, playing slot machines at the local casinos and lunching with the Red Hatters Club. She enjoyed traveling with her family and was an avid Mariner’s fan.
She is survived by her son, Michael McGuire and daughter, Michele (Randy) Rognlin, both of Aberdeen; two grandchildren, Nick (Ashley) Rognlin and Katie (Andy) Snodgrass and her two great-grandchildren Bentley Warne and Jaxon Rognlin, all of Montesano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1994; and her granddaughter, Kristi in 1980.
The funeral service will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Viewing at 2:00 p.m. and Service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012. A reception will follow at the Saint Mary’s Parish Hall.
