Noreen Mary Brown, 67, a recent Wenatchee, Washington resident and former longtime Pacific Beach, Washington, resident passed away on Saturday morning, June 2, 2012, in Wenatchee, following an extended illness.
She was born on June 10, 1944, in Albany, New York, to Raymond H. and Mary L. Patterson. She was raised in the Northeastern part of the United States while making numerous moves with her father’s railroad job. Following her graduation from high school, she continued her education by attending Nursing College in Indiana. After receiving her nursing credentials, she became a Disaster Coordination Team Nurse and covered disaster sites throughout the North Central United States.
In the mid 1970’s, she moved to the Aberdeen, Washington area, where she went to work at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1981 and continued to make her home in Pacific Beach. She recently moved to Wenatchee to be with her family.
She was a longtime member of the Catholic Church, a member of the Pacific Beach Grange and a former Cub Scout Den Mother.
She especially loved people, had a great will to live and was an avid fan of the “Young and The Restless” television soap opera.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sherry Brown of Wenatchee; one granddaughter, Phoenix Marine of Wenatchee and Noreen’s longtime companion, Ernie Moore of Pacific Beach, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Bobbie Patterson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam with Rev. David E. Monsen, officiating. A private inurnment service will be held later.
