Richard A. Wilson, 86, of Chico, Calif., peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on September 1, 2012.
He was born in Aberdeen, on August 18, 1926. Richard was a World War II Veteran serving in the Navy from 1943-1947. Richard owned and operated R.A. Wilson Electrical Maintenance Inc. for nearly 50 years in the San Francisco Bay area, until he and Ellie, his wife of 62 years, retired to Chico in 1991. His passion was playing golf and he was awarded special recognition by the Enterprise Record in April of 2010 for achieving his 38th Hole in One! He was also an avid fisherman, a lifetime member of the Elks Club, a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Stephen and Terry; daughter, Nancy; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Richard’s wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later time.
