Ronald Zed ‘Ron’ Baker

Ronald Zed ‘Ron’ Baker, 71, longtime Grays Harbor resident and former owner of R & M Shake Mill in Copalis Crossing, died on November 16, 2012, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.

Ron was born on November 17, 1940, in Lewiston, Idaho to Zed and Grace (Thomas) Baker. He moved to Grays Harbor when he was young.

He married Mary Becker in 1960 in Moclips, Wash. She died in 1997.

Ron worked at various shake mills in the Harbor and in 1978 started R & M Shake in Copalis Crossing.

Ron loved to fish and go hunting.

Ron is survived by three sons, Jeff and wife, Joni Baker of Aberdeen, Cliff Baker of Aberdeen and Rick and wife, Erin Baker of Oklahoma; two brothers, Don Baker and Jack Baker; and a sister, Donna; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his best friend, Caroline Ronk. Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Del Baker.

There will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
