Sandra L. “Sandi” Patterson, 56 years of age and a longtime Hoquiam area resident, died this past week at her home in Hoquiam. She was born on June 19, 1956, in Boise, Idaho to Marvin and Ruth (McPherson) Moyer.
Her family came to Cosmopolis when she was an infant and she attended school in Cosmopolis and Aberdeen where she graduated from J.M. Weatherwax High School in 1974 and then attended college for a brief time.
Sandi was married to Kurt Dean Patterson on December 14, 1974, in Central Park. They were later divorced.
She worked at Grays Harbor Community Hospital from 1974 to 2006 as a ward clerk. For a brief time she worked at Fry’s Food in Arizona and at Fred Meyer in Portland. She then returned to the Harbor where she was a caregiver with Personal Service Providers.
She had been a T-Ball coach and was active for several years on Relay For Life teams.
Sandi’s survivors include her children, Robert Patterson (Carmen) of Seattle, Jason Patterson (Christina) of Portland, Oregon, Mathew Patterson of Phoenix, Michelle Patterson (David) of Aberdeen and Brian Patterson (Brenda) of Aberdeen; five grandchildren; a brother, Michael Moyer of Aberdeen and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Keith.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Aberdeen Eagle Hall, K and West Market Streets.
