Sharon Rose Malinowski (Hovde, Jull)

February 27, 1930 - August 15, 2013

Daughter of Aberdeen’s pioneer Joe and Elizabeth (Beth) Malinowski has passed away at her home in Olympia, Washington due to natural causes.

Sharon attended school in Aberdeen at Saint Mary’s and Aberdeen High School. Married Richard (Dick) Hovde in 1948 and bore three children; Eric Andre Hovde, Rachelle (Shelley) Marie Hovde, and Richard Paul Hovde. Sharon divorced Dick in 1966 and remarried John Jull in 1968 before divorcin again in 1975 and deciding to live alone.

Sharon was an avid artist and in her younger years painted many signs for motels and businesses in the Grays Harbor area. She loved nature and the great outdoors. Sharon suffered a major stroke in 1978 which greatly disabled her body but not her spirit. She continued to live alone for the next 35 years (stubborn Pollack) and only relented to assistance from daughter, Shelley, and son, Rich, the last few years.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Fran White of Aberdeen and Karla Malinowski of Edmonds; her brother, Joe Malinowski of Edmonds; and daughter, Shelley McGeatchy of Olympia. She is survived by sister, Mildred Hamilton of Lakewood; son, Eric Hovde of Elma; son, Richard Hovde of Olympia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and God only knows how many cousins, nieces, and nephews of the GREAT MALINOWSKI clan.
