Ursula Ann Jeney, 97 years of age, died on Monday, February 18, 2013, in Montesano, Washington. She was born on March 17, 1915, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anton and Mary (Bindok) Sadakerskis. She attended a Cleveland area Catholic school and then a public school. Her mother died when she was seven and she helped with the chores and the cooking. She attended the Catholic Church in the area she resided.
She met Joseph D. Jeney at a dance in 1937 and they were married on August 24, 1940, in Cleveland. They moved from Cleveland to California in 1947. She worked for numerous years at Stuart Pharmaceuticals until 1978.
They resided in the greater Los Angeles areas to include San Gabriel and La Verne. When she was 70 she volunteered at the La Verne Senior Center serving meals. She also took painting classes and was an accomplished artist.
She came to Hoquiam in 1997 having visited here every summer since 1975.
Ursula is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Jorgensen (Bob) in Joshua Tree, Calif. and Joan Hyde (Bob) in Hoquiam; four grandchildren, Joe Nides (Tracy), Claire Taylor (Chuck), John Hyde, Sr. (Suzy) and Kristy Ford (Tracy); three great-grandchildren, John Hyde, Jr., Nicholas Nides, Madison Nides and other relatives. Her husband, Joe Jeney died in 1978.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Our Lady of Good Help Catholic Church in Hoquiam with Father Stephen Roman presiding celebrant. A graveside service with vault interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello, Calif.
