Von Dillard Hogan passed away peacefully at his home in Montesano on Friday, July 26, 2013, surrounded by family and friends, after a battle with cancer.
Born May 12, 1934, Von was one of six children born to the late Willard and Lola Hogan. Von will forever be remembered by his brothers, Dan, Gary, Gale, and Larry; his loving sister, Ada Johnson; children, Connie Quantz and Clay Hogan; grandchildren, Michel Williams, Josalyn Smith, Jerry Hogan, Danielle Cearley, Mitchell Cearley, and Lacey Hogan; and great-grandchildren, Mia Williams and Aidan Williams.
Von was raised in Elma/Matlock and attended Matlock High School. He was an Owner/Operator of a log truck company for many years, and later retired from the Department of Fisheries as a welder. He loved listening to county western music, raising horses, flying his airplanes, racing motorcycles, hunting, laughing, being with his family and having fun with friends.
He touched the lives of many people with his sense of humor all the way to the end.
