Wilford Brian Cole passed away on September 7, 2012, at his home in Copalis Beach, Washington.
Bill was born in Aberdeen, Washington, on October 12, 1944, to the joy of his mother, Patricia L. and father, Wilford J. Cole. He graduated from Aberdeen’s J.M. Weatherwax High School in 1962, and joined the United States Navy shortly thereafter.
His schooling in the U.S. Navy included most of the sophisticated electronics used in the state of the art jet fighters and bombers deployed on the U.S.S. Enterprise during the 60’s and 70’s. His electronics training remained a large part of the rest of his life and carried over into his ongoing fascination with computers and peripherals. Bill earned numerous ribbons, commendations and superior evaluations during his service.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Connie Jean Browne and her husband, Leon of Santa Rosa, California; his son, Aragorn Cole and his wife, Jasmine of Aberdeen, Washington; and daughter, Savannah Cole of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by brother, John and his wife, Margaret Cole of Templeton, California; sister, Connie Hurst of Kent, Washington; six grandchildren, Sean, Steve, Tiffany, Christopher, Nicolette, and Joshua; plus many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill will be sorely missed by all who loved him and enjoyed sharing life with him.
There will be a military service at Tahoma National Cemetery, in Kent, Washington, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012.
