Willis D. ‘Bill’ Casey


Longtime Alaskan and Kasilof resident Willis D. “Bill” Casey, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his home.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Brady Grange Hall, in Brady.

Bill was born on August 19, 1920, in Elma, Washington. He graduated from J.M. Weatherwax High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Chief Machinist’s Mate from 1940-46. He retired from the Operating Engineers. He moved to Alaska in 1989.

Bill loved his parrot and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Ruby Casey and Frances Casey and a granddaughter, Lisa Harner.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Carol Quimby, Gloria Blackman and Colleen Graham, all of Elma, Wash.; granddaughters, Tammy Walker of Olympia, Wash., Kimberly Heck of Elma, Wash., Lana Frisvold of Seattle, Wash., Jessica Wilson of Port Angeles, Wash., and Ruby Hartford of Elma, Wash.; grandsons, Ken Brogan of Olympia, Wash., and Tim and Tom Brogan, both of Rainier, Wash.; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Casey and wife, Margarat of Kasilof; sister, Glady Yundt of Anchorage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
