“Nutcracker” was a treat

I had the opportunity to attend the Nutcracker recently at the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam. For those of you who haven’t been to the 7th Street lately, a lot of people have done some wonderful things to a great old building. For those of you who might have missed it, there was a marvelous production of the Nutcracker by the Lighthouse Ballet Academy.

The production was a pleasant surprise, I had no idea we had so many talented kids in our community. I had the opportunity to experience the joy of the very young dancers out there for the first time, just thrilled to be out there. With them, were the seasoned dancers gracefully and subtly guiding their “little charges.” I can’t even imagine the amount of preparation it must have taken to do all the costumes and the practice for this production, but the time and effort were obvious.

If you missed the show this year, plan to treat yourself and your family next year. Let these kids share their marvelous gifts with you. I am sure, like me, you will be pleasantly surprised. This is now an annual “must do” event for our family!
