Well, it is quite apparent that Mr. Eddy and I don’t see eye to eye on the gun bill that never saw the light of day. He is blaming it on what he calls the party of no and I am crediting it to the party of Know!
So it is America and it is still OK to disagree, as long as the IRS doesn’t find out.
I appreciate Mr. Eddy’s history lesson on filibusters in the Senate. I found it to be quite interesting. He stated that in 2010 the filibuster was used 137 times. Well there he goes, exaggerating the numbers to fit his opinion.
According to the United States Senate: (http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/reference/cloture_motions/111.htm) the filibuster was used 70 times. Don’t believe me go look it up. The 111th Congress convened on Jan. 3, 2009 and ran until Jan. 3, 2011. Now during that time the filibuster was used 137 times, 70 times in 2010 and 67 times in 2009. But no matter how Mr. Eddy chooses to slice the pie and no matter how many times he says it, the filibuster was NOT used 137 times in 2010.
The fact is opinions just do not change facts!
So here it is, the real reason Mr. Eddy’s gun bill did not pass is simple. The party of Know said absolutely no to the party attempting to infringe on our Second Amendment rights.
So I’ll continue to stick to the facts, my guns and my religion.
