The President has roared like a kitten whose tail was stepped on. His rhetoric has established a red line and now what to do? He thought about it for days and had a photo op with his advisers and uncle Joe but the world still awaited his decision.
He finally decided to act but that darn Congress claims it has to approve. Then he has a meeting he has to go to so when he gets home and Congress gets back from vacation, then they can talk. Maybe by then something else will dominate the news and he will be off the hook.
Maybe he should adopt some Teddy Roosevelt advice. “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” Words may have gotten him elected but they do have meaning, especially on the world stage where he is about as popular as a skunk at a beauty pageant.
