I first met Tom Bjorgen, who’s running for the position of Washington State Appeals Judge, nearly 15 years ago at a short course for planning that the Montesano City Council put on. Tom was the legal representative for the course, and my first opinion of Tom was that he was extremely bright. Over the last 15 years I have known Tom nothing has changed that opinion. Tom holds the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbel, the national attorney rating organization.
Tom has been an attorney for more than 30 years, has served as counsel for the state Legislature, and has argued cases before the Washington State Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals and various federal courts along with having been a senior prosecuting attorney for Thurston County. In addition, Tom has also been in private practice and has served as both a legal mediator and arbitrator. Currently, Tom is the hearing examiner for Thurston County and the cities of Olympia and DuPont. I think Tom Bjorgen would make a great Washington State Appeals judge.
