The Stage West Community Theatre of Ocean Shores is this month gifting our area with a great performance of a gem of a play. “The Box Car Children” is about a family of four orphans of the Depression era: their real problems, real adventures, and their determination to stay together as a family no matter what. The play is a very creative compilation of events from the series of children’s books by Gertrude Chandler Warner, which many of us remember from our childhood.
This play is A-plus, whole-family entertainment and their first performance had a full house. This is also an opportunity for youngsters to see a fine example of what their peers can achieve. But don’t think about it too long: the last performances are this weekend — Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. With children, come early for seats where they can see best.
