Grays Harbor has lost a giant.
John Erak was one of the most honorable, selfless and respectable men that I have come to know. His career speaks for itself being a public servant to only better our lives and well being.
John had a way to make anyone smile when speaking with him.
Many times my family would bring him fresh razor clams, which was his favorite and seeing his appreciation with his smile could change your whole day.
I always thought that was why he had a very successful career as a teacher and public servant.
Speaking with my late grandfather, J.B. McCrory about John, who knew him for a long time, would tell me that his way of talking with another was always informative whether you were agreeing or disagreeing with his ideas. There was a lot to learn and take away from John and I know that my family and I are better people for just knowing him and a lot of others too will agree.
I would like to thank the family for sharing such a wonderful man with us.
You will be missed John but never forgotten nor will we forget all that you have shared.
