A healthy Citizen Corps

A healthy Citizen Corps

Grays Harbor County is fortunate to have a very active Citizen Corps Council. It is made up of private citizens, volunteer organizations, faith based organizations, the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Summit Pacific Hospital, North Beach CERT, North River CERT, Ocean Shores CERT, Grays Harbor College, E911, Grays Harbor Emergency Management, Grays Harbor Public Health and many more!

Attending our monthly meetings is an opportunity for you and your organization to collaborate with other citizens and organizations to work on preparedness issues specific to your locale. Opportunities for free training and education are available, which benefit you, your organization, our community and Grays Harbor County. The Grays Harbor Citizen Corps meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month except August, at 9 a.m. in the Grays Harbor County Forestry Building, 310 W. Spruce Street, 2nd floor, in Montesano.

We care currently working on a booth for the Grays Harbor County Fair from Aug. 7 to Aug. 11 with a theme of Pets in Disaster.

Work is also in progress for a full scale exercise in Grays Harbor County where all volunteer organizations will be asked to mobilize to participate in a one day disaster event with training focusing on real world situations.
