For those of you who thought Romney was a centrist, his choice of Paul Ryan as a running mate should be a wake-up call. He is pandering to the Republican far right, as he did so many times during the primary, and as he clearly has to do once he’s in office.
A vote for Romney is a vote saying “Goodbye” to America’s middle class. He and his friend Ryan plan to give tax breaks to the wealthy while charging the middle class more taxes. They tell you the money will trickle down to the middle class. It hasn’t done so before, nor will it do so. It’s Republican sleight of hand.
Those of you who were yelling “Don’t touch my Medicare” about the health care program, it’s Romney you should really be worried about. Get ready for Medicare to be made a voucher program and for elderly people to have to pay an average of $6,000 more for doctors and hospitals out of their own pockets in 15 or 20 years. That is the Ryan plan that Romney called “marvelous.” They will invest your Social Security in private bank accounts and then deregulate the banks so they can lose the money like they did in 2008. Romney is no centrist, and he and Ryan plan to do a reverse Robin Hood, so they and their wealthy buddies can make lots and lots of money, leaving the rest of us to fend for ourselves.
