Some day people will be elected to office based on their principles, not their allegiance to corporate interests. Gun manufacturers are corporations interested in ever growing profits. The NRA is their handmaiden, seducing the vulnerable with fairy tales of a noble anti-government struggle. Every dollar that the susceptible citizen gives them has blood on it. Not the blood of tyrants, but the blood of children and teachers, police officers and firefighters, just plain folk. Every dollar this paper reaps from gun advertisements has blood on it, as well.
A background check can be as simple as this: Are you now, or have you ever been, disgruntled? Well, then you probably should not be in possession of a weapon of death. You are not part of a “well-regulated militia.” You are just plain scared. And they, the gun industry, know how to play you.
